![]() Watch Thor raise his mighty hammer! This film features edge-of-your-seat action and adventure and you will love every minute of it. Watching Chris Hemsworth as Thor alone is worth the admission price. It should be noted that there is a fair amount of fantasy violence but even some of the violence isn’t what it appears to be as a main character’s hand is cut off but the audience learns later that it wasn’t really severed but was part of a plot to gain an upper hand (pun unintended) against the enemy.įeaturing loss through death, loyalty, and sacrificial love, this movie’s themes are noteworthy. You will not be able to hold in the laughter. However, this movie is very funny at times, including a scene in which the form changing Loki takes on the appearance of Captain America and talks about his spandex and Red, White and Blue costume. In this movie all is not what it seems and the film escalates to more action, drama, and a rousing crescendo which sadly also features a few deaths. Loki (Tom Hiddleston) is bound to a cell due to his previous crimes and betrayal and Thor finds himself in a unique situation in which he is forced to enlist Loki’s help to fight a powerful army. A villain named Malekith is after a unique energy giving force that Jane Foster has and soon he is pursuing Jane to Asgard where Thor has taken her. You’d think that’s a good thing but read Katey’s argument on why it isn’t here. This movie offers something for tween and older superhero fan crowd! The film features action, laughs, dynamite special effects, and a complex storyline that is interesting to follow. Loki is arguably the best villain among Marvel’s recent films. ![]() Following an assault on Asgard by Malekith the Accursed and his dark forces, The Mighty Thor teams up with his disgraced brother Loki, still imprisoned for. Thor: The Dark World picks up pretty much right after Loki’s defeat in Avengers. Just one burst of rage to betray Loki’s otherwise usual cool demeanor. Thor: The Dark World is the 2013 sequel to Thor and the eighth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the second instalment of Phase 2, directed by Alan Taylor of Game of Thrones fame. Dark Elves, Infinity Stones and a whole lot of nothing. Beyond the Cap impression, that moment when we see Loki’s reaction to Frigga’s death was one of the best in the film, I thought. Going back to Loki, he’s certainly a scene-stealer, thanks in large part to Hiddleston’s brilliant performance. I don’t think I’ve le-sigh’ed like that since I watched that Bradley Cooper interview where he speaks French. Want more? This next video includes evidence that HIddleston is very familiar with Will Smith’s "Miami," as well as more Chris Evans, some Mark Ruffalo and Scarlett Johannson, and at one point, a little kid with an American accent… The swear-filled Chris Evans impression is my favorite in that one. Check out this compilation of impressions he's done during interviews. For Thor: The Dark World, Marvel Studios hired Game of Thrones alum Alan Taylor to help maintain Thor and Lokis post-Avengers momentum (replacing Thor director Kenneth Branagh) - and deliver a solid standalone 'Phase Two' installment. Whether it’s Alan Rickman, Owen Wilson or a velociraptor, he’s got it covered. Impressions are something Tom Hiddleston’s actually pretty great at. Jackson takes on his own character through Loki’s eyes. ![]() I’d also love to see a Nick Fury impression, if only to see how Samuel L. And how would he present Hawkeye or Black Widow? They're both such serious characters, which I think would play really well exaggerated.
